A Perspective Of A Surgeon

Looking back at a picture of mine from 9 years ago made me realise how much I had changed since the day I entered MBBS.

It feels like just yesterday my parents had dropped me off at hostel. New found independence, changed lifestyle, adjustment issues, mess food, hostel politics and fun, intimidating books, learned professors and a very fresh zeal to take on whatever life had to offer…. With a twinkle of innocence in the eye and great passion for medicine I had prepared to give in my 100%.

Years passed by quickly. Last year in the month of May, just one day after my birthday I got the best news. I was selected for general surgery post!!! I don’t know if it was a correct decision for me to take up general surgery or not, but it surely was a decision that made me happy!

Same life – hostel, mess food, new friends…. It all begins once more…
